Star Spruce Trading LLC exists because of farmers.
Billions of people around the world depend on what farmers grow. To meet the growing food demands of the planet, farmers will have to grow more than ever, and we have to make sure that all the food that farmers grow, reaches the people and does not go waste. We do this by providing local farmers best quality seeds and fertilizer, supporting them technically and financially during the entire farming cycle, and then buying their entire harvest. The food that farmers grow is then cleaned, processed and frozen at harvest, in our state-of-the-art facility. This is what is termed as ‘Farm Level Processing. This way, farm produce which can go bad within a few days or weeks if harvested and sold traditionally in the local market, gains a shelf life of up to 18 months using IQF technology, and gains a worldwide market. This brings prosperity to the farmers, and power of choice to the consumer, thus bettering the lives of everyone.
A little slice of history
Star Spruce Trading LLC was started as an idea of a small farmhouse in 2005 by Mr. Hasan Shafiq. Always an innovative entrepreneur at heart, Mr. Hasan Shafiq soon realized the importance of storing and preserving farm produce, so that it did not go waste, and could be sold in off-season at better prices. The company was registered in 2008, with the aim of producing best quality frozen foods and dairy products. Mr. Hasan Shafiq is ably supported in this venture by his wife, Mrs. Sarah Shafiq.
Since then the company has made huge progress, and is now equipped with state-of-the-art IQF technology, processing lines, PUF panels and cold chain delivery vans. The company is supplying to major retail chains, fast food chains and hotel chains in India and abroad.
Star Spruce is planning to enter the retail frozen foods market, and you will soon see our branded frozen foods on your local supermarket shelves.
